Somatic Care
(body)
We focus on how your body and mind affect each other. Our somatic care includes interventions like yoga, mindfulness, and different therapies to help with both physical pain and emotional ups and downs.
We also look at your nutrition and pain levels and work with doctors and other physical health experts to help you feel better, in your body, brain, and mind.
Cognitive Analysis
(mind)
We focus on understanding how you think, make decisions, problem-solve, and perceive your life and others. Cognitively, we want to see the automatic thoughts that pop into your head and how they play a role in your struggles.
This helps you change negative thoughts and automatic reactions into healthier ones, leading to better decision-making and more positive viewpoints.
Psychoanalytical
(brain)
Psychoanalytical evaluation helps you dive deep into your unconscious mind to understand hidden emotions and patterns. We create a safe space for you to explore your inner self and learn more about why you feel and act how you do.
This approach is great for dealing with tough emotional problems or deep psychological issues, along with substance use. It helps you discover unresolved issues and understand yourself better.

Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)
Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is a mental health condition that affects self-image and relationships, often leading to intense, rapidly changing emotions and a strong fear of abandonment. This can create challenges in daily life, but with understanding and appropriate treatment, BPD can be managed effectively.
What types of therapy are used at Exist Centers to treat BPD?
We primarily use evidence-based therapies like Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and IFS (Internal Family Systems)-informed sessions, as well as other supportive approaches, to help clients manage their emotions and relationships effectively.
How long does treatment for BPD usually take?
Treatment varies for each person, but our programs are designed to provide consistent, ongoing support. Many clients see improvement within a few months, with continued progress over time. Our full treatment typically lasts four to five months.
What can I expect from BPD treatment at Exist Centers?
Our approach is compassionate and individualized. You can expect a structured plan focused on building emotional stability, healthy relationships, and coping skills for long-term success. You can expect to not be stigmatized, and to seen as a human in pain who can be helped.
Substance Use Disorder
What types of support does Exist Centers offer for SUD recovery?
We offer a combination of individual therapy, group support, and skills-based classes to help clients build a foundation for long-term recovery. We do not believe that every person seeking SUD treatment is "an addict" and we are open to supporting moderation management or the sober curious.Â
*Full abstinence is required while attending the program
Substance Use Disorder (SUD) is a condition where a person has a compulsive need to use drugs or alcohol, often despite negative effects on their health, relationships, and responsibilities. SUD changes how the brain functions, making it difficult to control urges and resist cravings. While challenging, SUD is treatable through support, therapy, and sometimes medication, helping individuals regain control and work toward recovery.
How does Exist Centers approach treating SUD?
Our approach is evidence-based and individualized, focusing on the underlying causes of substance use, emotional support, and practical skills for daily life. We are informed on the 12 Steps of AA and encourage our clients to attend peer support groups there or at alternative meetings, versus basing our clinical program around them. At Exist, you receive effective therapy 100% of the time.
What can I expect from SUD treatment at Exist Centers?
You can expect a structured, compassionate approach with a focus on personal growth, relapse prevention and/or moderation management skills, and building a supportive community.

Complex PTSD + Neurodivergence
Complex PTSD (C-PTSD) is a condition that can develop after prolonged trauma, often affecting a person’s ability to feel safe and connected. It involves intense emotional responses, flashbacks, and difficulty trusting others. When combined with neurodivergence—variations in how the brain processes information, such as ADHD or autism—managing daily life can be even more challenging. With tailored support and treatment, however, individuals can learn coping strategies to navigate and heal.
What challenges do clients with both Complex PTSD and neurodivergence face?
Individuals with Complex PTSD and neurodivergence may experience heightened emotional responses, sensory overload, and difficulty managing stress, which we help address through individualized support. We specialize in helping our clients differentiate what aspect of themselves is triggering which behavior and emotion.
How does Exist Centers address neurodivergence in treatment?
We create a supportive environment that values different thinking and processing styles, offering sensory-friendly spaces and approaches that cater to each client’s preferences.
How can treatment improve life with Complex PTSD and neurodivergence?
Treatment at Exist Centers can help clients develop practical tools for emotional regulation, build healthier relationships, and feel more grounded and empowered in daily life.

Our Philosophy
Our philosophy is rooted in the belief that every client with a substance use disorder is a human simply trying to survive a painful existence—whether that pain is physical, emotional, or interpersonal—by using substances in ways harmful to themselves and at times others.
We stand firm that recovery and wellness are attainable for everyone and that not everyone’s path to recovery needs to look the same. We are committed to providing individualized, multi-disciplinary care, addressing the physical, cognitive, and psychological aspects of addiction and mental health for each one of our clients.
Our NineTruths

SENSE
5) We will not judge you for existing the way you currently do.

RELIEF
6) It is natural for human beings to seek relief from their pain and to attach to pain relief.
We will never shame you for your behavior. We understand.

We will enable you to see the choices you make. You are responsible.
