What this page is

PTSD treatment is a program week.

PTSD treatment here is CCTP-informed PHP or IOP in Laguna Beach, not a single therapy hour. We start with safety so the body can stay in the room, then the story. EMDR and somatic work sit in the same plan when they belong there. It is not a hospital or a locked unit.

What happened is still in the body. We start there.

A week with the body first

How trauma sits in a PHP or IOP week.

A trauma IOP or PHP day at Exist runs the whole model. Group for the pattern. 1:1 for the history. Somatic work for the nervous system. EMDR when processing belongs in the plan. Psychiatry when medication is part of it. You go home at night — or to Truth House if you are already in the program and home is far or not the right night.

  1. Two hands resting on cream linen in warm side light — the somatic start of the week.

    Body

Breath, yoga, the skills that make a hard hour survivable. The week starts in the body when the mind cannot.

  2. An empty wooden chair by French doors at dusk, the Laguna coast in mauve light.

    Mind

The automatic thought, the story you tell about what happened. We work the reaction before asking you to change the life.

  3. The back of a person in a wool coat at a seawall at dusk, looking toward a dark Pacific.

    Brain

What sits under the pattern — PTSD, C-PTSD, and use read as one history, in a safe room. EMDR when it fits.

  4. A person walking a hillside path through dry grass at dusk, back to camera.

    Skills

Distress skills, then time with your own clinician. Not a hallway that waits until you are “stable enough” for trauma work.

How it shows up

The names in the room. Same week.

This is not a directory of other conditions. Those live on the hub. These are the ways trauma arrives here — treated together, not after each other.

All we treat
  1. PTSD

A body that still treats the past as now. Safety first, then the story.

    • Flashbacks
    • Startle
    • Avoidance
  2. Complex PTSD

Longer, relational trauma. Emotional flashbacks. That page is there when you want that language.

    • C-PTSD
    • Relational
  3. Use as relief

Alcohol, prescriptions, stimulants — treated with the trauma underneath, in the same week.

    • Dual diagnosis
    • Same week
  4. The body

Somatic work is not an add-on. Breath and movement sit in the same plan as EMDR and 1:1.
